Relativity Example - Animation

The following animated GIF might take a couple of minutes to load (140K).   It shows the pictures on my Relativity Guide in sequence.

Please note:

• They are not equally spaced in time, so it is not an even display of the journey.   Neverthesss, it shows significant events throughout the journey, and should give you an idea of what happens.

• The time when Bob stops at the star shows the Earth now 8 light years away.   This is correct, but it would actually look to Bob as though the Earth had moved, and not the Star.   (Unfortunately I couldn't draw it this way, because I wanted my pictures to be as clear as possible within a limitation of 640 pixels across the screen).   Of course neither the Earth or Star really moves, it is the space between them that is no longer contracted.
