An excellent, information-rich and resourceful find ! It will need to be progressively looked closer at and discussed as we go along. Well-done!

For the time being it has triggered the following line of thought: viz: It is said, via quantum physics, that everything is Energy (=MC2) and that this Mass-Energy can only exist with a Universal Mind present and entering and existing withinst it. Further such Energy is composed of many vibrational states. Now every vibration produces its own frequency and pitch of sound. (cf. a tuning fork) .Then there must exist a Sea of Motion or Sound, much of which appears to be inaudible normally. this Sound-Vibration that is emitted and that fills the Cosmos has to be the 'Anhad Naad' the inscrutable sound of our Universal collective Mind and Soul, perhaps ... ?

Any thoughts ?

Amrji,

Thanks for taking the time to read it. The book is a real platform for thinking systematically about the connections between Shabd Guru and scientific imagery.

I had a worry later though. Kirpal Singh -- is he coming at his thinking through the Rhadusoami or Sant Mat path?

He probably is, ToniJi !!!!!!!!!

I haven't read it all to be absolutely certain though ...

If so, we should proceed with caution. I'm glad you are aware of the Rhadhasoami movement. In the main, Sikhi remains distant to it. We are professing and offering Sikhi at any rate as our principle motivation ... :) We'll talk on Skype ...

There is a basic difference between Radhasowami and Sikh panth. The Radhaswami's advocate a living master while we have SGGSji as eternal Guru. Their teachings are those from the path of Guru Nanak.

Early in my life I had decided and accepted SGGSji as Living Guru. My experiences proved without doubt that even in daily life decisions SGGSji guided. The problems resolved. Answers to questions just were there. The Shabad Guru is ever within. We can talk with Shabad Guru , seek answers , seek help , seek protection .....
So the very idea of a living Guru does not cross my mind. I do respect the Radhaswamis and their choices. My Guru is Shabad GURU.

I know of this difference, and myself am totally opposed to living gurus. This defeats the entire purpose of Nanaak.

Is this the Kirpal Singh who committed an apostasy and then made amends? He is now a follower of the Sikh Panth. Or is this a different person?

There wasn't any discussion in the book about a living guru.

If you check out Kirpal's JapJi translation, he cunningly suggests the need of a living guru even when the tuk (shabad in gurmukhi does not mention it).

If you want a westerner's view about Radhasoami (co-writer of RSSB books now ex-premi after 35 years of following Sant Mat), here's the site:

You'll laugh out loud because he brings out all the doubts a follower of a Dehdhari Guru might have.

Should I delete this discussion?

Decision is in your own hands. But I don't object to the development of info shared by all about RSSB. No harm done.

Problem is, who wants to be peppering the discussions with materials that have half-hidden references to apostate ideas.

And am I wasting my time and the time of others?

The book had a lot of information grouped n a way that paired ideas with SGGS really neatly.

I don't know. But thanks for offering your point of view.
