I wish to share a Sakhi which had a profound
influence in the direction and choices made by me ,even
to this date.
Here is that sakhi :
After the Jyote was transfered
by Guru Nanak Dev ji to Bhai
Lehnaji who became the Guru Angad
Devji , Bhai Balaji met Guru Angad Devji.
Bhai Balaji Asked him that
he (Bhai Balaji) had remained
with Guru Nanak for a long time and even traveled with him how come he has choosen you and given you the Guru's seat.
In reply Guru Angad Devji
asked Bhai Balaji
"What do you consider Guru Nanak to be ? "
Bhai Balaji replied " A puran (Complete) sant. "
Guru Angad Devji replied : "This is what Guru Nanak has made you - a puran sant"
Bhai Balaji replied then
asked 'What did you considerd Guru Nanak to be
?"
Guru Angad Devji replied : ' Parbraham Swaroop."
Bhai Balaji replied then said : ' So thats what he has made
you ."
This a Sakhi and the
conversation might or might not have taken in this way but the point is
relevant.
When we meet a person his ideas and directions can take us only to the level he
has reached and the level we consider he is at.
When I look at a book and read it then also I consider the level the author can
take me upto.
I do discard and do not read a book where reading it would be a waste of time
and retracing of steps as the direction taken then would be different.
The new ideas and explainations presented are
evaluated by me in the light of SGGSji's teachings.
Bhai Raghubir Singh Bir also advised similarly and was doing such. The writings
of Bhai Veer Singhji had
similar analytical approach.Bhai Randhir
Singh ji were also careful in this regard.
