solo performer . singer . songwriter

Billy February has been performing solo since January 1992 on a regular basis. Prior to this he performed in two original bands. From 1986 to 1988 he was the frontman for the Gold Coast band The Screeching Tongues" and then from 1988 to 1990 he played rhythm guitar and lead vocals the Adelaide band "Drive On Parker".

Billy's decision, no alcohol, no drugs, emphasises his clean vision into a hardcore surfing lifestyle that flows out into his hard edge, original, powerful musical abilities.

Having sat behind the microphone as a radio presenter, Billy knows how easy it can be - or how hard it can be, to get airplay and hit the charts. Billy decided to leave the DJ chair to put his original music out there on the street. Since that time he has played live to air on many occasions including 3D Radio, 5UV, MMM, ABC and appeared live on AM Adelaide, Channel 7's top rating morning show. In 1999 Billy released his first CD "North Wind" on Legend Records and has enjoyed continued steady sales. Plans are in the pipeline for the next CD soon.

Billy has respect from not just the music scene...but it was Billy February who was sought out when Chris Isaak - International recording star - wanted a surfer/musician to show him some of the waves on South Australia's South Coast. He also proved to be a popular support act and has supported acts such as Mark & Nick Seymour, Chris Finnan, Renne Geyer, Phil Manning and Hue Cornwall.

From street fair to street beat venues where his critics are few, admiration is the only word for a singer songwriter who puts his soul, his originality, out there, to be heard - out there on the edge of make or break!

All of these things go into the essential entertainer that is... Billy February, well liked, well received, respected by his peers, a natural entertainer and a true asset to the entertainment world.
