The 2007 Australian General Conference convention, December 26 - 31 was held at Portland, the birthplace of the State of Victoria. The historical township looks out over a beautiful harbour, setting a delightful scene for the convention.

Church brethren and families (60 persons in total) travelled from all over Australia to participate in the convention theme “Fully Impacting Our Generation For Christ”.  Guest speakers Peter and Jenny Stokes from “Salt Shakers” (Christian Ethics, Research, Education and Action Ministry) spoke on “Understanding The Times” and John Klassek from “MessageWeek” spoke on the subject of Christian multimedia ministry.

Inspiring sermon topics such as “Wise Stewardship”, “The Centrality of Christ” and a workshop on “Shining Our Light” encouraged us to re-commit ourselves to serving our Lord in 2008. Youth programmes and activities ran throughout the convention with great success.

A gospel concert was held on the last evening of the convention, at the Portland Civic Hall, where the local towns people were invited to attend and share with us, as we gave praise and worship in song to our Lord.

In attending the convention, we were truly blessed and uplifted by God’s Holy Spirit and the memories will not be easily forgotten.
