The Provincial Prayer Cycle

A prayer for TODAY

Grant to us the gifts of Unity and Peace

To live our lives as you would have us live it

In holiness and in love.

This week we are drawn back to the ordinariness of our day to today life. From the feast of Corpus Christi (The Body of Christ), when we remember the Holy Eucharist to the exotic feast of the Sacred Heart, as we focus on a Christ who is overflowing with love.

Corpus Christi reminds us how we are taken, broken and blessed and become (for the world) the presence of the living Christ. The focus on Jesus love, reminds us that this is done by unconditional, unselfish love, lavished on those God has given us to care for

For thought and  prayer

  • Pray for an openness to the presence of Jesus in our day to day life.
  • Where have we encountered Jesus today? Can we see where we might want him to be? What is he saying to us about how to live life?
  • Ask God to give you any special insight you may need to understand what is happening and how you might respond.
  • What will you do tomorrow in the light of what God is doing today?

We know that the Son of God has come and given us an understanding that we may know him that is true, even Jesus. (1 John 5:20)
