1816           Born near Sheffield England

1838           Completed three years apprenticehip and during 1839 and 1841 attended classes of Chemistry, Materia Medica and Anatomy at the Sheffield Medical Institution.

1842           At Anderson's University in Scotland studied diseases of women and obstetrics and granted a diploma of competence in Obstetrics and highly complimentary certificate in other classes.

15 Jun 1843      He had bestowed on him the Diploma of the Society of Apothecaries of the City of London.

18 Jan 1846      Arrived on the Kingston as the ship's Surgeon, Port Adelaide, South Australia, Australia

7 Apr 1846        Admitted by the SA Medical Board

15 Mar 1847      Married Christian Cock, they had ten children

Aug 1849          Appointed Medical Officer at the Kanmantoo and Tungkillo Mines, resigned later that year
