House Fire - Eden Hills - October 16 2002

More than 25 firefighters from Eden Hills, Blackwood, Belair and Coromandel Valley battled an intense fire that gutted a house at Eden Hills on October 16.

The fire started inside the two storey Pekina Street home at 11:30 a.m., and firefighters arrived to find the house well ablaze.

Crews took 45 minutes to completely extinguish the fire, and managed to stop it spreading to surrounding thick scrub and surrounding properties.

No one was home at the time of the fire and damage was more than $250 000.
