Kitchen Fire - Coromandel Valley - 19th April 2002
Firefighters from Coromandel Valley and Blackwood averted a potential disaster for a Coromandel Valley family after their kitchen caught alight from a stove top fire earlier this evening.
Fire fighters contained the blaze to the kitchen which limited damage to $30,000.
The $250,000 home was saved due to a rapid response from fire crews who extinguished the blaze within minutes of it starting just before 6.30pm.
One High Pressure Line was used to extinguish the fire. Positive Pressure Ventilation evacuated the hose of smoke. Coromandel Valley A24 and Blackwood Rescue attended the scene
The occupants of the house suffered smoke inhalation and were tended on scene by SA Ambulance.
