Update

In the on going straggle with the problems associated with the Blue Gouldian. It is time to update my findings so far,

Has been establish that in very rare cases same the fostered Blue will survive the first year and will produce same young but his life will run out in the next few months.

Test done on the second and third generation of young showed that they all are infected with the same health problems as the original parents.

So as I can see it, there is no way that you can breed it out, in my opinion you have to start from scratch, the question is where could you get healthy Blues?

The unscrupulous breeders have ruined years of breeding with hundreds of Fostered Blues around the country

How can you tell if your Blues are normal healthy birds?

1)      That you have not lost one Blue for two years.

2)      After two years they breed and raze the young by them self.

3)      Or if they originated from your own Green Backs.

It is harder and harder to find a dedicated breeder with the healthy line of Blues, because most of them don’t know that the birds they bought, came in the first place from the dishonest breeder.

You can read the vet report on my page to see how bad the situation is.
