How Do I Reduce (Not Minimise) The Current Window, Without Using The Mouse?

Press (SHIFT + ALT + SPACEBAR) then press R

or

Press ( ALT + ENTER + ENTER)

How Do I Change Font Size Using My Keyboard?

To change your font size to the next larger or next smaller point size listed in the Formatting toolbar's Font Size list, do either of the following:
Press (Ctrl + Shift +>) to go to increase the size of the font.
Press (Ctrl + Shift +<) to decrease the size of the font.

How Do I Change To Case Of My Text?

Select the text which you want to change.
Press (Ctrl + Shift + A) this toggles between upper and lower case.
Press (Ctrl + Shift + A) while typing to turn toggle on or turn toggle off.

Or

Select the text which you want to change.
Press (Shift + F3) until the case you want is selected (this to cycles through uppercase, lowercase, and title case).

Or

Select the text you want to set in small capitals.
Press (Ctrl + Shift + K) this toggles between small capitals and normal text.
Press (Ctrl + Shift + K) while typing to turn toggle on or turn toggle off.

How Can I Turn On/Off Superscript?

Select the text you want to set in superscript.
Press (Ctrl + Shift + =)

How Can I Turn On/Off Subscript?

Select the text you want to set in subscript.
Press (Ctrl + =)

I need to use the registered ® (superscripted) quite often.  
How do I do  this?

 

Word documents should have an AutoCorrect Feature eg type (r) and it should auto correct to a ®

(by the way if you really wanted to type (r) and you got ® then immediately press the undo arrow (or backspace) which will revert the character back to (r).

 

If the AutoCorrect Feature for ® is not set then you will need to do the following:

* Click on your Start button

* Select Programs/Accessories/System Tools/Character Map

* Make sure the font = Arial

* Find and click on the ® symbol, then click on the select button.

   The ® should then be displayed in the ‘Characters to copy field’

* Now click on the copy button, this places a copy of the character on the
   ‘clipboard’.

* Open your word document and press space three times.  Arrow back two spaces.

* Paste the character into the document.

* Now select (drag over) only the ® (not the space) and do one of the following:

·        Press (Ctrl + Shift + =) this should turn the character into superscript (do this again and it will turn off superscript)

·        Select Format Menu/Font/and tick superscript

* With the superscript ^® still selected do the following:

* Select Tools Menu

* Select AutoCorrect

   You should see the character you selected ® in the ‘With’ field (if not then you have not selected the character correctly)

* Select ‘Formatted Text’

* In the ‘Replace’ field type      (rs) and then press the ADD button then the OK button.

 Try typing (rs) you should now see ^® in superscript.

How Can I Change My Line Spacing In MSWORD?

Select the text.
Press (Ctrl + 1) for single line spacing.
Press (Ctrl + 2) for double line spacing.
Press (Ctrl + 5) for one and a half line spacing.  

How Can I Insert a Table

Press ALT + A

(release the ALT key)  Press I + ENTER

You should now see the INSERT TABLE selection box

Use UP/DOWN ARROW KEYS to select number of columns needed.

Press TAB Key to move to Row

Use UP/DOWN ARROW KEYS to select number of rows needed.

Press ENTER

Table is inserted with standard bordering.

How Can I Insert a New Row in a Table

Use the RIGHT ARROW KEY to move to the end of the row

(flashing cursor should be at the end of the row outside the table)

Press ENTER KEY

Working with Borders in a Table

Select rows or columns or cell/s, which you want to affect the bordering, style

Do this by moving to the first cell using the ARROW KEYS then hold down the SHIFT KEY + ARROW KEY (cells should become selected – show black)

Press ALT + O

(release the ALT key)  Press B + ENTER

You should now see the BORDERS AND SHADING selection box

To deselect the bordering already in place select none by pressing the N KEY

To create a border where there was none in place select box by pressing the X KEY

To create all cells boxed effect select the A KEY

To create a grid boxed effect select the D KEY

To select a different style of border press the Y KEY then use the UP/DOWN ARROW KEYS to move to the desired style

To select a different colour of border press the C KEY then use the UP/DOWN ARROW KEYS to move to the desired style

When finished with selections select ENTER (or use the TAB key to move to the OK BUTTON then press ENTER)
