This site is a "virtual review" of a fleet which has long since vanished. It contains descriptions, specifications, potted histories and some photographs of all the ships, large and small, old and new, regular and auxilliary, which equipped Australia's Navy between 1939 and 1945. It may well be the most comprehensive historical Australian warship listing available! There is also mention of a few of the thousands of servicemen who sailed in them.

This site works best using Navigator 3, Explorer 4 or later browsers.
You will see at left an array of buttons which should light up when you pass the mouse across them. These will remain visible wherever you go in this site. Simply click on any button you wish to take you to that page within this site. Navigation within each page can be achieved by "opening" the "portholes" (seen at right) 
towards the top of each page, and clicking the relevant links further down. Clicking on the RAN-crest divider at the bottom of each entry (seen below) will restart the entire site in a new window; this feature is chiefly for those whose browsers do not support frames, or who come to this site through a search "hit" on one of the pages.
