Gods design

I see God's design in the oceans and land,
in the shape of a shell or a babies warm hand,
in the song of a magpie, the trust of a hound,
and the flowers that grow in the spring time.

I see God's design in the plants and the trees,
in the birds and the beasts and the fish in the seas,
in the young and the old and the strong and the weak,
and in all of the life which surrounds us.

I see God's design on a calm summers night,
in the gathering dusk with the seabirds in flight,
and the fish on the surface that lazily swim,
while the stars in the heavens are gleaming.

I see God's design in the wind and the rain,
in the howl of the storm in incessant refrain,
as it sings of destruction yet brings life again,
in the place that is left by it's cleansing.

I see God's design in a brothers embrace,
in the help of a friend or a welcoming face,
in the love of a partner, an unselfish deed,
and the stranger who helps in the hard times.

I see God's design in the road which I tread,
I am saved from myself by the blood that was shed,
For my sake on the Cross on that first Eastertide,
By the Blessed Lord Jesus, The Saviour.
