For now in my soul there's a new day just dawning,
which fills the whole world with Gods light.
I throw off my burdens and look to the morning,
made whole by the message of Christ.

I have dreamed the bright dream of the Christ in his glory,
and read the brave words which tell us His story.
my soul has decided the road I must tread,
I must follow my saviour and shirk him no more

When He calls me to follow, I cannot do other,
His power within, has made me discover,
there are no more questions for me to decide,
its sufficient alone that He walks by my side.

In the time before dawning when fear becomes bolder,
I know the Lords hand is there on my shoulder.
my soul is made strong and my spirits are high,
for my fear is made less as the dark sorrows fly.

In the forests of fear and the deserts of sorrow,
the mountains of faith tell us of tomorrow.
Of Jesus Christ's love and the promise He made,
that all who call on Him are sure to be saved.

I will pass through the desert and walk the dark forest,
to climb the high peaks and stand on the summit.
I will gaze in my heart at His heavenly dawn,
and know that for me a new life has been born.
