Upon this blessed day let anthems,
Echo forth the call.
The joyous news of resurrection,
Of our blessed Lord.
Who has from death arisen,
Triumphant o’er the grave.
Who now in heaven takes His place,
At God’s right hand

The Great Creator in His mercy,
Sent His Son to us.
To save us from the malediction,
Of the sinful ways,
Beneath which we once laboured,
In misery and fear.
The Son who by His death proclaimed,
His love so dear.

And we beneath His wings have sheltered,
From the stormy blast.
That threatened once to overwhelm us,
In the distant past.
Before He came to free us,
And save us from ourselves.
And gain for us by sacrifice,
Eternal life.

So come now sing in exaltation,
Blessed be His name.
For He has bought for us salvation,
Bringing us the light.
That banishes the darkness,
And throws it’s glow afar.
While He in majesty is seen,
Our guiding star.
