Weep no more
Weep no more the salt tears, our Saviour has risen,
and in rising has broken deaths chains
For the message He brings is of life everlasting,
in the peace of the garden of God.
Betrayed by a kiss, to His trial He was taken,
to refute all the charges men made.
Yet they wanted His death, in their malice unceasing,
so they scourged Him and sent Him to die
In a crown of sharp thorns, in pain and in passion
He was hung on the cross til He died.
And the sun in its course, in the depths of its sorrow,
hid its face from the anguish of God.
He was laid in the tomb and wrapped in fine linen,
then the entrance was sealed and secured.
But the locks of frail men couldnt hold His brave spirit,
and in glory He rose once again.
So then mourn Him no more, with sad self reproaches,
but in joy let us think of His love.
For the life that He gave, is the price of redemption,
we are saved by the blood that He shed.
