I sometimes feel wonder
I sometimes feel wonder,
how can this thing be?
that Jesus Christ my redeemer,
should care about me.
I am but a humble disciple,
while He is the master of all,
but yet in His wisdom He knows me,
knows all about me.
He came to redeem me,
and free me from sin,
to lead me on to salvation,
through my faith in Him.
He died on the cross and was buried,
but rose once again from the grave,
and then He ascended to heaven,
in glory to reign.
Humbly I remember,
the life that He gave,
in bread that speaks of His body,
so broken and torn.
In wine that betokens His lifes blood,
shed freely that I might be joined,
in Him and through Him, in communion,
In life evermore.
Love was His commandment,
love perfect and pure,
for God, with all of my being,
whole hearted and true.
And love for my brothers and sisters,
for all of Gods people on earth,
and, loving, know that I am faithful,
To His holy law.
So let wonder vanish,
let my faith increase,
and let His truth be my armour,
His word be my shield.
Let inchoate fears and confusions,
be banished and certainty reign,
that He is my Lord and redeemer,
whose love conquers all.
