My team was required to conduct market research, and to produce a marketing plan for “Interact Learning,” a provider of online learning solutions. I was elected as the leader of this team. Working with me were three other students including: Vivienne Holloway, Ling-ping Tan, and Chim Ting Shiong. Development of the plan involved extensive research. Collection of statistical and other secondary data provided a useful starting point, and helped to direct subsequent stages of research. The team interviewed Interact Learning to gain an understanding of their existing strengths and weaknesses. We also interviewed several organizations to gain insight into the decision-making process in the market. The strategic collection, interpretation and use of data posed both analytical and creative challenges. As the team leader, I made it a priority to foster group cohesiveness and candid communication, which was decisive in allowing the group to meet these challenges.
