12,042 BC - The High Elves assault Avalon, but unable to take it instead phase the entire city into a dark limbo. In retaliation a combined Human and Wood Elf force liberates the Halfling from the High Elves.

11,000 BC - Humanity spreads over most of the planet. Almost as if in counterbalance the Vermin do likewise. 
A Celestial Alliance scout ship lands and captures part of the Celtic race for study. For the first time the Harmonic directly intervene by rescuing the humans and destroying all traces of the scout team. They remain unaware of the genetic tampering that has taken place adding the metagene to the human race. Soon after the first Eternal appears.

10,000 BC - Earliest record of civilization in Japan. First Barbarians, Witchdoctors, Dar'que Lords and Urban Legends. Warfare and barbarian attacks devastate the Hyborian world. Changing climate conditions force Nordic tribes southward, where they clash with barbarian tribes which had invaded from the east. After decades of conflict the western world is thrown into chaos, until finally not one civilized kingdom exists. The western world becomes dominated by Nordic barbarians. 

9600 BC - End of the Younger Dryas cold period (boundary between Pleistocene and Holocene and traditionally the boundary between the Palaeolithic and Mesolithic). First stone structures at Jericho. Animals are domesticated. Agriculture in Mesopotamia. Invention of the bow and arrow. Earliest pottery in Japan. First Champion of Order.

9400 BC - A Second Great Cataclysm rocks the Earth. Sea levels rise until vast areas of the western world sink beneath the waves. The Euro-African continent is torn in two when the Atlantic Ocean floods into the area that would become known as the Mediterranean Sea. The lands from Stygia southward break from the north, forming the continent of Africa. The mountains of Cimmeria remain above sea level, and would eventually become known as the British Isles. The inland Villayet Sea shrinks greatly in size, and would become known as the Caspian Sea. The Hyborian Age ends, and the civilization of Egypt begins developing in what was formerly Stygia. 

8350 BC - Neolithic settlement at Jericho. The Tsaurid empire having defeated the Celestial Alliance arrive on earth looking for any outposts. Instead they detect the Harmonic bases and immediately attack them. Lemuria shoots down the battleship but not before its orbital bombardment causes shockwaves worldwide. With whole continents being swamped by tsunamis Lemuria, like Atlantis before it sinks beneath the waves. The Harmonic in a panic over the amount of life being destroyed break their own laws regarding experimentation and transform some humans into water breathers. They are eventually able to reclaim Lemuria and Atlantis. Others flee underground. Some join the Dwarves while the rest find their own way.

8300 BC - Nomadic hunters arrive in England. A tribe of humans who remained underground somehow come across the Necronomicon. They are able to use its mystical power it to contact Kali who in turn physically transforms them, giving them rock like skin, resistance to extreme heat, the ability to generate heat from within their own bodies, and a number of other mystical properties. The warrior caste become known as Magmanoids, the worker caste Volcanoids and religious/leader caste Obsidians.

7500 BC - Catalhoyuk founded. Potatoes and beans are cultivated in South America. Beginning of rice cultivation in East Asia.

7000 BC - Agriculture and settlement at Mehrgarh in South Asia. Agriculture appears in Europe (Greece, Italy). Pastoralism and cultivation of cereals (East Sahara). First pottery in Mesopotamia. Gold and native copper begin to be used. First Merchants. Hob Anagarak, the demonic creature holding sway over the Arctic, is imprisoned in a block of black ice. It is said in Inuit legend that after this, the land grew cold.

6500 BC - English Channel formed with help of Dwarves and Gnomes.

6000 BC - Irrigation in Mesopotamia.

5509 BC - September 1, Date which the Byzantine Empire counted as day of creation of the world and beginning of their calendar. 

5600 BC - The Black Sea floods with salt water after an Elven assault on a Dwarven stronghold there.

5500 BC - Pottery at Mehrgarh in South Asia. Agriculture appears in the valley of the Nile. Rice cultivated in Asia. Wheel and plough invented.

5300 BC - Temples founded in South Mesopotamia.

5000 BC - Creation of the world according to some analyses of the Old Testament of the Christian Bible, based mainly on a literal interpretation of the genealogy of early mankind given in the Book of Genesis. First Rangers.

4500 BC - Civilization of Susa and Kish in Mesopotamia.

4000 BC - Noah survives the Great Flood. Around this time, the Egyptians astronomically measure time.

3700 BC - Civilization of Crete. First Amazons.

3500 BC - Civilization of Sumeria, cities state. The Sumerian civilization forms in Mesopotamia. They invent writing (cuniform) and the pantheon worshipped by the Sumerians and their successors, the Babylonians and Hittites, include many colorful figures such as Marduk, god of the city; his nemesis, the great dragon Tiamat; Gozer the Gozarian, and it's minions Zuul and Vinscortho; and the elemental spirits Anshar and Khishor. 

3400 BC - Beginning of desertification of Sahara.

3000 BC - Foundation of the city of Mari (Syria). Creation of the Kingdom of Elam (Iran). Dynasty of Lagash in Sumeria. Shima-Buku, chieftain of the Ibandi people of Tangalla, defeats the Undying One and imprisons him in three stones that were scattered throughout the borders of Tangalla.

2900-2334 BC - Mesopotamian wars.

2900 BC - Pottery developed in Americas. Domestication of the horse in Central Asia. The Chinese record a comet.

2600 BC - Unified Indus Valley Civilization. The Great Pyramid of Giza is constructed, first and greatest of the pyramids of Egypt. A Necropolis of a deceased pharaoh, they also mark a very powerful series of ley line nexi. 

2500 BC - The legendary line of Sanhuangwudi rulers of China is founded by Huang Di. Harappan civilization, at its peak, covered an area of around 480,000 kmē. Its heartland lay in the Hakra river valley in Pakistan, but settlements spread as far as the Makran coast, Baluchistan, Afghanistan, eastern Punjab, Kutch and Saurashtra. They included cities like Harappa, Mohenjo-daro, Kalibangan, Dholavira, ports like Lothal, Sutkagen-dor and Sotka-koh and numerous villages as well.

Feeling their power is at its peak the gods make contact with their counterparts in other realities and decide to jointly invade Darkworld and destroy the Splugorth. Before leaving they endow some of their worshippers with a fraction of their power creating the first Earthlords.

1470 BC - Female pharaoh Hatshepsut of Egypt. 

1450 BC - Moses and the exodus.

1344 BC - Beginning of Hittite empire.

1235 BC - Athens founded. 

1200 BC - Judaism established. Beginning of the first iron age. The Prisci Latini migrate to Italy from the Danube region. First Dragon Lords and Dragon Priests.

1184 BC - Fall of Troy. Indians developed caste system. Horse domesticated. Chinese record a comet.

1151 BC - Aeneas the only surviving Trojan general flees the fall of Troy with his troops.

1139 BC - After 12 years of fighting supernatural enemies with the aid and opposition of various gods the last Trojans finally arrive on the shores of what would eventually become Italia. They defeat the barbarian tribes there with the aid of the goddess Diana and claim the land for themselves.

1100 BC - Alphabet developed by Phoenicians. First Roman Soldier.

1000 BC - Greeks settle in Ionia. Peru and Mexican cultures evolve. Worship of the Olympians had become the official religion of the Greek peoples. Other peoples such as the Romans began worshipping the Olympians as well, although they called the gods by different names than those used by the Greeks. Worship of the Olympians spread itself throughout the Roman Empire. 

900 BC - Druids appear. 

813 BC - Carthage founded by Phoenicians. Golden age in Armenia. Assyria conquers Damascus and Samaria. 

800 BC - Iliad and Odyssey composed. Carthage founded in North Africa. Chinese capitol Hao overrun by barbarians. Olmecs build pyramids. Chinese record solar eclipse. Scythians arrive in Asia. Collapse of Susa. End of Elam. 

789 BC - Nineveh destroyed. 

776 BC - First Olympic Games held in Greece. 

754 BC - Romulus the direct descendant of Aeneas unites his people and creates the city of Rome. In Sarmatia meanwhile the Vermin complete their own city of Warrenblight in honour of their god the great horned rat.

753 BC - Greeks colonize mediterranean. Midas King of Phrygia. Beginning of Greek colonization in Italy: foundation of Ischia, Cumae, Naxos in Sicily and Syracuse.

717 BC - Numa Pompilius becomes the new leader after the death of Aeneas during an assault by a Vermin army. He introduces law and order and expands the temple system for the Roman gods.

700 BC - Etruscan civilization begins to flourish. Celtic tribes in Gaul.

674 BC-670 BC - Assyrians conquer Egypt. 

672 BC - Tullus Hostilius takes over after Numa is killed while going to the aid of a Dwarf village against the Vermin. The alliance between Dwarfs and Humans is renewed after centuries of neglect. Tullus also introduces the military code of honour.

640 BC - Ancus Martius is next to take over after Tullus is slain fighting against the Carthaginians. He is the first to form an alliance with the Wood Elves. Halflings also begin integrating with Humans.

616 BC - Tarquinius Priscus seizes control after assassinating Ancus. He introduces the system of all Roman allies receiving the same benefits as full citizens.

612 BC - Collapse of Nineveh, end of Assyria. 

600 BC - Japanese capital founded. Zoroastrianism founded. First coins used by Lydians. Iron allegedly discovered in China. Persians conquer Ancient Egypt, dominate eastern Mediterranean. Carthage's merchant empire slowly dominates the western Mediterranean. Roman Republic founded. 

586 BC - Ruin of the Kingdom of Judah and the destruction of the first Temple. Buddha founds Buddhism in India. It became a major world religion. Dao de jing written (traditional date). Confucius formulates his ethical system of Confucianism, which proved highly influential in China. Pythagoras, Greek mathematician. Demotic becomes the dominant script of ancient Egypt. Persians invade Greece twice. 

578 BC - Servius Tullius takes over after the sons of Ancus assassinate Tarquinius. He introduces the census and divides the army into centuries.

550 BC - Tarquinius Superbus, the son of Priscus assassinates Servius and takes over as a tyrannical and unjust ruler. He does however introduce sanitation and the sewerage system.

509 BC - Lucius Brutus leads a rebellion which overthrows Superbus' family and creates the Roman Republic Senate. A constitution, colleges, magistrates and consulates are introduced. He is the last of the legendary wise leaders until the rise of Caesar.

500 BC - Division of China into separate states.

490 BC - Athenian empire formed and falls. Peloponnesian War. Buddhist monastic university at Nalanda. India established.

423-404 BC - Invasion of the Celts into Ireland. Kingdom of Macedon conquers Persian empire. Romans build first aqueduct. Chinese use bellows. Alexander the Great, King of Macedon, invades Asia Minor, Persia and reaches India. Oldest Brahmi script dates from this period (Brahmi is the ancestor of Indic scripts). The first two Punic Wars between Carthage and Rome over dominance in western Mediterranean. Rome conquers Spain. Great Wall of China begun. Indian traders regularly visited Arabia. Archimedes of Syracuse, mathematician, physicist, and engineer. Hannibal, military leader of Carthage. Eratosthenes accurately calculates diameter of the Earth. 400 BC - Gauls sack Rome. 

390 BC - Rome loses Veii to a combined Celtic and Gaul invasion.

343 BC - Rome finally conquers the neighbouring Latin countries.

271 BC - Pyrrhus conquers the remaining neighbours creating the Italian continent as it is known today.

256 BC - This period sees the necessary creation of the Roman navy.

250 BC - China unified. First Monks.

246 BC - First Gladiators.

229 BC - Tired of piracy of its merchant boats and assassination of its ambassador Rome invades and crushes the kingdom of Illyria.

211 BC - Rome is pushed back from Espana by Hannibal's invasion with the aid of the Dark gods.

208 BC - Hannibal invades southern Italy but his reinforcements are slaughtered a year later at the battle of Metaurus with the aid of the Dwarfs.

205 BC - Scipio with the aid of Numidia invades Carthage forcing the recall of Hannibal to defend it.

202 BC - Hannibal and his army are finally crushed by the combined Roman, Numidian and Dwarfen armies. Carthage surrenders and is plundered of its treasures but allowed to survive.

200 BC - Confucianism state doctrine.

192 BC - Achaea becomes a protectorate of Rome.

191 BC - First Oracles and Prophetess.

168 BC - Macedonia falls to Rome.

146 BC - Renewed piracy leads to Rome invading Carthage and burning it to the ground. 

100 BC - Egypt, Gaetulia, Marmarica and Cyrenaica become Roman protectorates.

52 BC - Gaius Julius Caesar defeats all of Gaul and becomes feared by Pompey the current leader of the Roman empire. The dark gods recognising him as a champion of order begin manipulating events to prevent him bringing in a golden age.

48 BC - Caesar rebels against Pompey capturing all the protectorates outside Rome for himself. He installs Cleopatra on the Egyptian throne overthrowing the previous Pharaoh who was a chaos worshipper.

45 BC - Caesar takes control of the Roman empire and kills Pompey.

44 BC - Caesar attempts to create sweeping and just reforms but is killed by Brutus and other members of the senate who were until now secretly Chaos worshippers. Marc Antony and other loyalists flee to the east.

43 BC - Octavius takes control and a year later kills Brutus and his followers. Octavius remains unaware that his advisers serve the Chaos gods and turns a blind eye to the corruption now entrenched in the senate.

36 BC - Marc Antony marries Cleopatra.

30 BC - Egypt crushes Rome. Marc and Cleopatra commit suicide. 

0 - Year of Christ's birth. A massive Vermin army invades the Roman empire crushing all before them. The corruption within the senate prevents it from taking action, any who attempt to simply disappear. Other humanoid races come under similar attack, but not being splintered like Rome are able to unite against the Vermin. A powerful spell cast through the deaths of many Dark Elves causes all worshippers of the gods of Order to forget the names of their gods. This is followed by the Vermin simultaneously destroying every temple they can find while Human dark Occultists do the same within cities. This has the immediate result of all Clerical magic being lost.

1 AD - The Silk Road between Europe and Asia established. The Roman Republic becomes the Roman Empire. The Scandinavian peoples begin actively worshipping the Norse gods. 

2 AD - Sighurd a Germanian unites the Celtic, Roman, Dwarfen, Wood Elves, Halfling and Gnome armies to halt the Vermin on the outskirts of Rome. The Dark Elves meanwhile launch a vicious invasion on the High Elves. First Tao Shihs.

15 AD - The High Elves prove far more adept than anyone realised at fighting wars and rout the Dark Elf army. This causes the Vermin to be left without reinforcements and are then pushed back outside the Roman empire by the various allied armies.

16 AD - In the aftermath of the war Duncan becomes the new Dwarf king while Kithkin takes over as king priest of the High Elves and forms a treaty with the other races. 

33 AD - Following the death of Jesus Christ, the newly founded religion of Christianity slowly begins to spread in the Middle East and Europe. Thus mankind begins to fear the Christian devil Satan, a fallen angel formerly named Lucifer who was cast from heaven. 

79 AD - Pompeii destroyed by eruption of Mount Vesuvius. Buddhist monks in Sri Lanka first write down Buddha's teachings, creating the Pali canon. Buddhism reaches China. 

96-180 AD - Roman Empire governed by the 'Five Good Emperors' - Nerva, Trajan, Hadrian, Antoninus Pius, Marcus Aurelius. Ptolemy compiles a catalogue of all stars visible to the naked eye. Constantine I ends persecution of Christians in the Roman Empire. Following the death of Julian the Apostate, Christianity is made the official religion of the Empire. The Roman Empire's seat of government is moved to Constantinople. 

96 AD - First Inquisitors, Exorcists, Priests and Knights.

99 AD - First Samurais.

100 AD - Mayan culture appears. Around this time, the Norse and the German peoples began actively worshipping Odin and the other Asgardians as gods. As the religion of Christianity spread throughout Europe old polytheistic faiths died out. Many of the fairies and elementals which had previously roamed the Earth in great numbers begin degenerating mentally and physically into demons. Maximus Glavius elected the new Caesar as once again the Vermin and their dark allies are on the march.

101-102 AD - Hawksteel, Kremos and Ken have many adventures over this period culminating in the return of Avalon to this world, the return of the gods of Order and the Vermin being driven back out of the Roman empire. 

104 AD - Last of the Vermin exterminated.

111 AD - Creation of Templars. First Ninja.

166 AD - Last year of prosperity for the Roman empire.

 

History of the world
