families related to our two families

Goodwin is my family surname and Robinson is my husband's family

 Goodwin Family

The earliest Goodwin family member I have is my great-great grandfather James Goodwin born in Newmarket

Suffolk England circa 1790.  He was an agricultural labourer and he married Sarah Amos in about 1824.  They had
9 children and lived in several
Essex villages.  He died in 1852 on the Isle of Foulness off the Essex coastline.

His last son was named Faithful Henry Goodwin born in 1846.   Faithful was my great grandfather and called
himself John Goodwin, he married Maryann
Milbourne in 1871 and they had 12 children.

My grandfather Frederick Sidney Goodwin was born in Hawkwell Essex in 1877. He married Susan Elizabeth Wyatt
in Great Wakering Essex in 1901 and they had 9 children.

Frederick Sidney Goodwin was in the Royal Navy and the family lived in Chatham and later Gillingham Kent until 1921
when he retired.  The family then moved to
Ruskington in Lincolnshire.

My father Ernest Leslie Goodwin was their 6th child and he was born at Elizabeth Cottages in Gillingham Kent in
1912.  In 1938 he married Doris
Jeater in London England.   In 1949 they emigrated to Southern Rhodesia, living
there for 11 years.    In 1960 they left Rhodesia emigrating to South Australia, he died in 1965.  They had 3
   daughters.

The Goodwin and Jeater families and related family surnames are mainly from Essex, Surrey, Suffolk, Lincolnshire
and London in England, and the
Jones family is originally from Aberwrysth in Wales and Knapp family from Austria.

I was born in Salisbury Southern Rhodesia in 1954.
