"We are the proud owners of a 1975, TA-22 Celica that is now back on the streets after a long rebuild. In 1996 I was in the market for a new car, or at least a replacement for the old junk I was driving. A good family friend was planning to pay someone to take the Celica away - it did need a clean up and was unregistered! The latest motor - 12T (JAP imported I believe), has extractors, 2 inch exhaust, sun roof, tint windows, customised centre console + reco- 5spd g'box + big stereo.
The motor has been rebored and the head ported + mild cam and rejeted carby.
I got the car registered, cleaned it top to bottom and put on some 2nd hand wheels and tyres - in less than 12 months I drove nearly 45,000 km.
WOW!!Our TA-22 had been off the road for over 2 years. All rust was removed and the car was repainted + reworked the ignition and electrics. We have never seen another 12T. (We don't even know the capacity.) I'm trying hard to find info. on it, I think the next step is to try Toyota in Japan."
Looks great guys, keep up the good work!
