book of west torrens suburbsThe West Torrens Historical Society and the City of West Torrens have published a 48-page illustrated book on the old and new suburb names of our Council area. Since 1853 there have been more than 100 suburb names in the district - many are no longer used. Have you heard of Weeroopa, Twickenham, Meldreth Park, Horncastle, Grey, Leackly, Marshfield or Ellenville?
Much research has been done into the derivation and exact localities of these former suburbs along with those that we know today. This book is available for $5 (postage extra) from the West Torrens Historical Society Inc, PO Box 43 Marleston SA 5033 or by telephoning 83569768 or 84433380.
